Characteristics of thermal comfort in the offices of North-East India

In the context of climate change and global warming, nexus between energy buildings is self-explanatory. As per ministry statistics program implementation, Govt. India data, primary consumption in building sector 37% total about 24% to CO2 emissions. It evident from research that thermal comfort, efficiency sustainable architecture are interlinked interdependent. The present study carried out Naturally ventilated offices North-East at three representative locations i.e., Tezpur, Imphal Shillong, warm humid, Cool humid Cold cloudy climates, respectively. Year-long comfort surveys were 81 naturally office buildings, collecting 2326 samples spread over July 2016 June 2017. Data analysis shows neutral temperature through regression 26.4°C, 24.7°C, 23.4°C for Preferred relative humidity Shillong 24°C, 23.5 °C 22 55%, 55% 63%, Probit showed occupants more adaptive toward warmer side sensation scale.
